PatternMark Privacy Policy

Overview

PatternMark is provided by Sleepycat Software LLC. It is a local-first cross-stitch PDF tracker and does not require an account.

Information stored on the device

PatternMark stores the following information locally on your device:

• Imported PDF pattern files and chart-page thumbnails
• Project names and page selections
• Grid calibration settings
• Symbol matching caches and manual corrections
• Completed-cell and progress data
• Viewer preferences and free-tier or entitlement state

The original PDF is copied into the app's local storage so a project does not break if the original file is moved or deleted. Sleepycat Software does not upload or receive your PDFs, chart images, symbols, or progress.

Backup, restore, and sharing

Project backup export and restore use the operating system's document picker. A project file leaves the app only when you explicitly export a backup or share it.

When you choose to save or share a backup, the file is passed to the operating system's share or file interface. The selected third-party app or destination is governed by its own privacy practices.

Purchases

PatternMark offers an optional one-time lifetime unlock. Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on the device. PatternMark uses RevenueCat to verify and restore purchase entitlement.

RevenueCat may process:

• An anonymous app user identifier
• Device type
• Operating-system information
• App activity timestamps used for entitlement operation
• Apple purchase receipts
• Google purchase tokens
• Purchase and entitlement history

Sleepycat Software does not receive or store users' complete payment-card information. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.

Support communications

PatternMark does not collect an email address through an in-app account. When you contact support voluntarily, Sleepycat Software receives the information included in the email, such as:

• Email address
• Message content
• Screenshots or attachments
• Device or troubleshooting details you choose to provide

This information is used to answer and resolve the support request.

Features PatternMark does not use

The current PatternMark application does not include:

• User accounts
• Advertising
• Third-party behavioral analytics
• Location access
• Contacts access
• Microphone or camera access
• Cloud storage or cloud synchronization of pattern contents
• Social features

Data retention and deletion

• Project data remains on the device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to operating-system backup and restoration behavior.
• Backup files you export are under your control and can be deleted like any other file.
• Purchase records are retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their respective policies and legal obligations.
• Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain business records, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Children's privacy

PatternMark is a general-purpose hobby utility and is not directed specifically to children under 13. Sleepycat Software does not knowingly solicit personal information from children through PatternMark.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when PatternMark's functionality, service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be updated when changes are published.
